Tebo just handed it to everyone in 2wd and 4wd mod, 10 minute A-mains at the Proline Surf City Classic over the weekend with his RB5 and ZX5 with the big bores.............his cars were super dialed![]()
I am just not impressed at this point. I think there is still lots of work to be done on setup with the big bore shocks. I had just never seen Jared have as many flips and rolls as he had in the last 2 races (Hot Rod Hobbies shootout and the Nats). Maybe once they get them figured out I will consider it.
I also primarily run indoors at this point. I run on a smooth surface with small to medium jumps and it is small (54x40). I don't see a benefit for me.

I knew he would get them figured out eventually. I hope to see more success with them over the coming weeks. I won't be upgrading for a while yet. I am just hoping to get a ZX-5 FS2 at this point.![]()

what kinda track was it? nasty bumpy rock-hard like Joliet, or otherwise?
Indoor clay track........there are videos up on Youtube..search 2010 OCRC Surf City classic. Lots of elevation changes with "step offs" and rollers, and fairly bumpy in some areas. Plus a slightly off camber chicane right after a jump/left hander. Lots of places to "upset" the car. Started out slightly loose, but the traction came up quite a bit by Sunday.
Actually, no, I'm not. I'm partial to off road and dirt oval tracks with dirt and not hard pack clay that allows—or requires—using slicks or worse, foam tires.
Off road should be off road, not carpet racing with perfectly manicured jumps and corners. I long for the dirt tracks of the 80s and 90s, wherever they might be.

I do know what you me there man, I kind of long for a little fluff and loam myself at times, instead of the slot car racing. Where I live, even our out door tracks are very hard packed and sugar coated with such high bite, you are lucky to get 4 runs out of a set of new rears. It gets expensive and it is very hard on your plastics (shock towers) if you get on your lid too much.
Has anyone notice that there is 4 holes on the shock tower.
He's drilled an extra inner hole.
I only just heard some rumors on the weekend that Tebo had an extra hole drilled. So i went searching for pics, lol.
I was also speaking with a few pro's on the weekend. And they run there shocks on the back side of the rear shock tower. Putting more weight over the rear wheels, and not having to add any weight to the buggy.
Has anyone else tried this???
