I take it no one is racing trucks out by you anymore? It really sucks to see that class get replaced as it has always been my favorite, but the SC truck are just as fun with being about to race really aggressive).

I have been there, and in that case if it is the local track just change things here and there and jut take note as to what that did.

Although now I'm still not a set-up mad man, but I can get by in a race day. However I am just lazy most of the time so I just run the same set I ran at the last race (for a long time I used my indoor set-up on the out-door tracks). lol

Yeah, I have been avoiding it like a plague just because I am unfamiliar, and they dont seem to be real popular. I am really new to some of this stuff, and if my car works well, I do well. If not, I struggle because of lack of knowledge with set up, and dont know what to change to improve my cars...

A one way would help, but first use a stiffer shock package, and a simple ride height change (have the rear slightly higher then the front (although I like to leave that at bones level front and rear)). Also play with the roll center, and the length of the tie rods, as well as the shock angles.

I only say not to use the one way as it is nice to have all 4 wheels stoping the car going into the turn as you can go into them hotter. Other wise it could be a great tuning aid if you are just looking for more turn into the turn. Also I know with todays cars, they can be set-up with out the use of a one way (not saying don't use it, as it might be what you are looking for).

When the traction is high you can normaly make the car stiffer over all to help with corner speed, as you don't need to rely on mechanical grip being that the track it self has excess grip (think of the set up in this case as more of an on-road set up in a way).

Well, My 4wd wouldn't turn very well tonight. I couldn't' get any rotation at all.. Track was super high bite, like play doh-. I have been driving it for a little bit, but never had it handle so pushy...shrug.. took off the front sway bar, didnt affect it much, maybe try a one way next.

I am in Northwestern IN, or you could say about 30 mins west of South Bend, IN, or about 1.5 hours away from Joliet, IL (chicago, IL) where LHR is at.

That sounds like fun, although I don't know how much run time you will get being that you have to wrench for your kids. In anycase you will find that the 4wd buggies go where ever you point it, and they come out of the turns like there is a rocket booster on them (not sure if you drove them before). I would say depending on the grip of the track a little more off-power steering wouldn't be a bad idea, or free the rear end up slightly so that it will turn more center of the turn.

Where are you at again? We are going to the indoor track tomorrow, gonna spend some time and just get used o wheelin 4wd inside on a tight track. Also running 2wd truck and buggy, so I should be busy..lol-also wrenching for my two boys, so I hope I remember to pack my patience...

On a funny note when I was last at LHR, I had 2 on/off switches fail (ok 1 was my fault as I mounted it wrong, but the other just would not keep the car on). I was race mod truck and was in 3rd and had the switch turn off (like I said I had it mounted wrong ) although I think I would have finnished 5th or worst as I gave myself way too much steering (I think my truck could have out turned a 12th scale on-road car), then the other class was 4wd mod, and I was Q2 in the b-main, but at the tone my car just doesn't go. lol

Of course my first time there I ran 4wd buggy only, and at that time I was still on Ni-Mh cells (what are those anyways, are they from when dinosaurs walked the earth), before the main I had my pack catch fire (yes the ni-mh pack was on fire). The good thing was it wasn't in my car (I don't want to know what a BJ4 WE looks lie in any type of fire), but that pack did leave a burn mark on the floor (concrete). lol Yes I have bad luck there, is seems. lmao

That is cool, and is nice when you have a track with in week driving distance. Although I did have 2 indoor off road tracks that were with in 30mins away until they closed down (1 was the track I start racing at and it was maybe 7 mins away).

But on the bright side I do have 2 tracks that are about 30 mins away, 1 is an out-door off-road track, then other in the on-road track (they do carpet off-road, but when I go there I like to stick with on-road). So once I get the funding to race again, I will back into full swing (and sooner or later I would get some new cars). Then I might be able to travel some to the other tracks in the area (1 is well known now (leisure hours raceway), 1 is new this year (called proving grounds), and the other is more of a local track but is still a blast to run on (but it is very tiny comparded to the other 2)).
